Antti "Hurja Niittäjä" Horttana

I took my first steps in playing an instrument when I was not even ten years old as my parents hired a piano teacher for me. I was not very keen on learning to play and then finally after three years I ended my career as a piano player. For a few years after that the only thing I played was my CD-player.

When I was at the first grade in high school one of my friends was establishing a band and he suggested that I would start playing an electric bass. The other three bassists in my family - my mother´s brother, my father´s brother and my brother - were also very enthusiastic about it and so I bought that great instrument with the money I had earned in my summer job. I started with a four string bass and after a year or so I changed to a six string bass since my taste in music was turning toward more progressive virtuosity.

My other band projects are Root of the Difference (cover band), Salvation on Mayon and Sointuseura.
